South agrarians change to Global Positioning System
During 2,5 years Bizon Company installed 82 GPS devices into tractors of agricultural enerprises. In 2009 there are 24 machines with GPS.
Navigation equipment is used for exact control operation during cultivating, seeding and fertilizing. It provides trajectory following and good performance not depending on running time and visibility conditions. Gaps and covers of plowed land are reduced. Fuel, seeds and furtilize are saved. Running time decreases. Mechanizer can only concentrate on implement operation.
— Agricultural producers put value on GPS advantages says Anastasia Kalashnikova, chief of agricultural equipment department of Bizon. — GPS is often used with the purpose of working at night because the productivity at that time is 30–40% less than in the daytime. The device gãaranties maximum effect at any time of day or night and when it is foggy as well.
As Bizon’s specialists say, setting the GPS is not a pay to fashion but operational need which help a farm to cut down expenses.
The system pays for itself after the first season already.
