Bizon pays an award for smoking cessation
Bizon Company realizes a corporate program which stimulates members to a healthy way of living. Regular sport events (car races, fishing and other) make the team close-knitted and oriented to the right way of spending the off-duty hours. Smoking cessation motivation is one of the main points of the program. 5% of salary per month is paid to all nonsmoking members.
Orientation to fight against this addiction has two reasons: smoking ruins health and hurts the busines process, — explanes Sergey Sukhovenko, director general of Bizon. Frequent smoke breaks have an impact on productivity. The work falls on nonsmoking members, they have to do double work. So we decided to award them 5% rise of salary.
At the same time they think in Bizon that smoking cessation shold be conscious and free. Smoker rights are not prejudiced in the Company. There is a special smoking area in the central office and regional ones.
Smoking out of those areas is strictly prohibited. 47 members dropped smoking during 2 years of program effect. There are 78% of nonsmoking and 22% of smoking members in the Company.
