Bizon performs the first tractor
The prototype of the first serial tractor was presented in Rostov-on-Don. The Bizon Company opened the first presentation in the honor of the beginning of the agriculture mechanization. In the centre of attention is Fordson tractor — the hero of the 20th last century.
Fordson was manufactured by Henry Ford and Son Company since 1917. It was founded by Henry Ford and his son Edsel against the decision of Ford Motor Company shareholders not to invest money in experiments with tractors. The tractor has the construction without frame, carburetor motor with power 20 h.p. and metallic wheels. It was aggregated with plough and other equipment. Like the automobile Ford T Fordson became the cheapest tractor of that time. In 1918 it cost $880, â 1921 — $625, and in 1922 his price fall down to $395.
In the Soviet Union Fordson tractor was produced under the lease and was known as «Putilovec». The serial manufacturing of tractors was started in the country from this machine.
